Create New Surveys

To create a new survey:

  1. Go to Engagement SetupSurveys.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a name for the survey and select the survey type.
  4. Available survey types
    Survey Type Typical Usage
    Onboarding Used for newly hired employees to assess happiness or gather information during or after the onboarding process.
    Stay Used to identify why current employees are deciding to stay with the organization and help identify areas that the organization could work to improve.
    Exit Used for employees who are voluntarily leaving the organization to identify why they’ve decided to leave and help identify areas that the organization could work to improve.
    Pulse Used to gauge employee sentiment for specific topics such as organization policies. Pulse surveys are short (one or two questions) so employees can complete them quickly with little interruption to their day.
    Engagement Used to assess employee happiness and identify areas that the organization could work to improve.
    Other Used for several purposes, depending on your organization’s needs.
  5. (Optional) Enter a short description of the survey in the Survey field.
  6. (Optional) Select the Collect survey respondent name checkbox to see each employee's name with their survey responses. If you want the survey to be anonymous, leave the checkbox cleared. For more information about configuring data anonymity, see Configure Data Anonymity for Surveys.
  7. Select the Build from Scratch option.
  8. Click Add.

Localize the Survey

You can localize the survey name and description, if necessary. See Localize the Survey Name and Description.

Copy an Existing Survey

To copy an existing survey in any state:

  1. Go to Engagement SetupSurveys.
  2. Click the action icon ( ) on the survey card, and then click Copy. The Copy dialog box opens.
  3. (Optional) Update the values in the Name, Type, and Description fields.
  4. Click Copy.
  5. Update the survey configuration as required.
  6. Important: All of the survey options are copied to the new survey, including the organization structure and survey launch dates. It’s important to check this information to make sure it’s correct for the new survey.
