Before You Begin: You can't edit system categories. To update a system category, you can copy the existing category as a base to create a custom category.
To add a custom category to the question library:
- Go to Engagement Setup > Question Setup and click the Categories tab.
- Click Add.
- Enter the category name in the text field.
- Enter the category description in the Description field. The description is displayed to participants and managers when they review survey results.
- Click Save.
To copy an existing category:
- Go to Engagement Setup > Question Setup and click the Categories tab.
- Select the question you want to copy.
- Click Copy.
- Update the category name in the text field.
- Update the category description in the Description field. The description is displayed to participants and managers when they review survey results.
- Click Save.
Important: If the category has been previously included in a survey, there might already be survey data associated with it. If you copy a category, this data continues to be associated with the original version of the category, and isn’t copied over to the new version.
Note: Any localizations associated with the original category aren’t copied over when you create a copy. You can localize the new version of the category after you save it. See Localize Custom Question Categories.
