The screen in Engagement Setup contains reusable questions that you can add to your surveys.
Questions in this screen are organized in the following tabs:
- System: Includes standardized, research-backed engagement questions that are managed by Dayforce. To preserve reporting consistency across surveys, these questions can't be changed.
- Custom: Includes custom questions that were added based on your organization’s needs.
To create a custom question:
- Go to the screen in Engagement Setup.
- Click the Custom tab.
- Click Create question.
- In the Details section, enter the question, and then select the category and answer type.
- (Optional) In the Response options section, select one or more of the following switches:
- Required by default: When selected, the question is marked as required and employees must answer the question.
- Allow comments: When selected, employees are provided with a comment field to respond to the question.
- Comments are required: When selected, the comment field for the question is required in the survey.
- Note: Comments aren’t required for optional questions. If the Required by default switch is off, the Comments are required checkbox is automatically deactivated.
- If you want different segments of employees to see different versions of the question, add one or more question variants in the Variants section. See Add Question Variants.
- If you want to localize the question, add one more localizations in the Localization section. See Localize Custom Questions.
- Click Save changes.
You can update questions until they’re used in a published survey. After publication, you can no longer be updated.
