In the Questions tab of Engagement Setup > Surveys, you can search the question library to add questions from it to your survey, or configure your own custom questions to add.
When you add questions, they are shown in the Questions tab by category. You can reorder the categories or the questions in them using the arrow controls, or by dragging and dropping your selection using the move icon ().
To delete a question, click the delete icon.
To add questions:
- Click Add Questions and select the type of questions to add:

- Add Questions from Library
- Add Custom Questions
Important: You can only add questions from the library or add custom questions at a time. To add both to a survey, add one type of question and save the survey, then add the other type of question.
Add Questions From Library
- To add questions from the Question Library, select the checkboxes next to the questions you want to add to your survey from the list. You can add as many questions as necessary.
- To add all of the displayed questions, select the checkbox at the top left of the table.
- To search for a question, enter a query in the Search field. You can view the questions in a category by selecting it in the Category drop-down list.
- (Optional) Clear the Allow Comments checkbox and the comment field isn’t displayed for the question in the survey. By default, comments are always allowed for Open Ended questions.
- (Optional) Select the Comments Required checkbox and participants must enter a value in the comment field for the question in the survey.
- Click Add.
Add Custom Questions
- To add custom questions, click Add.
- Enter the question in the Name field.
- You can include your company name by using the token {COMPANY}. See Define Survey Branding.
- Select the type of answer in the Answer Type drop-down list:

- 5 Point Scale
- NPS℠
- Open Ended
- Select the question category in the Category drop-down list.
- For a list of the system default categories, see System Engagement Categories.
- (Optional) Clear the Allow Comments checkbox and the comment field isn’t displayed for the question in the survey. By default, comments are always allowed for Open Ended questions.
- (Optional) Select the Comments Required checkbox and participants must enter a value in the comment field for the question in the survey.
- Click Add.
