Before You Begin: You cannot edit system questions. To update a system question, you can copy the existing question as a base to create a custom question.
To add a custom question to the question library:
- Go to Engagement Setup > Question Setup and click Questions tab.
- Click Add.
- Enter the question in the text field.
- Select the associated category in the Category drop-down list.
- Note: You cannot update the category associated with a question after the question is used in a published survey. For information on configuring custom categories, see Configure Custom Question Categories.
- Select the answer type in the Answer Type drop-down list.
- Note: You cannot update the answer type associated with a question after the question is used in a published survey. For information on configuring custom answer types, see Configure Answer Types.
- Click Save.
To copy an existing question:
- Go to Engagement Setup > Question Setup and click the Questions tab.
- Select the question you want to copy.
- Click Copy.
- Update the question text in the text field.
- Select the associated category in the Category drop-list.
- Note: You cannot update the category associated with a question after the question is used in a published survey.
- Select the answer type in the Answer Type drop-down list.
- Note: You cannot update the answer type associated with a question after the question is used in a published survey.
- Click Save.
Important: If the question was previously included in a survey, there might already be survey data associated with it. If you copy a question, this data continues to be associated with the original version of the question, and isn’t copied over to the new version.
Note: Any localizations associated with the original question aren’t copied over when you create a copy. You can localize the new version of the question after you save it. See Localize Custom Questions.
