Add Questions

Before You Begin: You cannot edit system questions. To update a system question, you can copy the existing question as a base to create a custom question.

To add a custom question to the question library:

  1. Go to Engagement Setup > Question Setup and click Questions tab.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the question in the text field.
  4. Select the associated category in the Category drop-down list.
  5. Note: You cannot update the category associated with a question after the question is used in a published survey. For information on configuring custom categories, see Configure Custom Question Categories.
  6. Select the answer type in the Answer Type drop-down list.
  7. Note: You cannot update the answer type associated with a question after the question is used in a published survey. For information on configuring custom answer types, see Configure Answer Types.
  8. Click Save.

To copy an existing question:

  1. Go to Engagement Setup > Question Setup and click the Questions tab.
  2. Select the question you want to copy.
  3. Click Copy.
  4. Update the question text in the text field.
  5. Select the associated category in the Category drop-list.
  6. Note: You cannot update the category associated with a question after the question is used in a published survey.

Important: If the question was previously included in a survey, there might already be survey data associated with it. If you copy a question, this data continues to be associated with the original version of the question, and isn’t copied over to the new version.

Note: Any localizations associated with the original question aren’t copied over when you create a copy. You can localize the new version of the question after you save it. See Localize Custom Questions.
