Submit a Vacation Bid Request in a Sequential Session

To submit a bid request in a sequential vacation bidding session:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In Work > Calendar, click the appropriate date on the calendar and select Create time off request in the menu.
    • In Work > Time Away List, click Request New Time Off.
  2. The Create Time Off Request slide-out panel opens.
  3. In the Reason drop-down list, select the appropriate reason.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Specify the length of the time away request using the Start and End fields.
    • If the Start and End fields are already populated, edit the duration of the period you want to bid on.
  5. If you selected a valid reason and specified an eligible period, Dayforce shows your bidding order rank under the Type of Request section to indicate that your request will be submitted as a vacation bid.
  6. Additionally, Dayforce shows an informational message indicating that your bidding window is active:

  8. Note: If your bidding window is in the past or future, Dayforce shows an error message indicating that your bidding window isn't active and your request won't be accepted.
  9. (Optional) Enter a comment in the Employee Comments field.
  10. Click Submit.

You can submit any number of bids, as required, while your bidding window is still active.
