Depending on how Dayforce is configured, you might be able to request time away only for days that you’re scheduled to work. When Dayforce is configured this way and you submit a time away from work request, you must select the shifts that you’re requesting off.
To request time away from work for scheduled shifts:
- Go to Work > Time Away List and click Request New Time Off.
- In the Create Time Off Request slide-out panel, select the reason for the time away.
- Do one of the following using the Start and End fields:
- Specify the date or duration of dates that you're requesting.
- Specify the duration of dates that contain the shifts that you want to request off.
- After you specify a date or duration of dates, Dayforce shows the Select Schedules section. This section contains every shift that you’re scheduled for during the period that you specified:
-
- If available, specify the type of time away, such as all-day or partial-day. The options that are shown depend on how Dayforce is set up.
- Select or clear the checkbox beside each shift to include or exclude it in the time away request. By default, Dayforce selects the checkbox for each shift in the specified period.
- Note: Depending on how your system is configured, Dayforce might show the Employee Schedules section instead of the Select Schedules section. If the Employee Schedules section is shown, you can’t select or clear checkboxes to choose which shifts are included in or excluded from the request. See Request Time Away.
- (Optional) In the Employee Comments field, enter additional information. Dayforce sends these comments to your manager along with the time away request.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Submit.
- To close the slide-out panel and cancel your time away request, click Close.
