You might be able to perform the following types of transfers:
- Docket: Transfer to an eligible docket.
- Labor Metrics: Transfer between eligible labor metrics.
- Project: Transfer to an eligible project.
- Work: Transfer to another qualified location and job assignment.
- Schedule: Transfer to an eligible schedule segment.
To enter a transfer:
- Go to Work > Time Clock.
- (Optional) If you haven’t already, clock in for your shift by clicking Start Shift.
- Click one of the following transfer buttons:
- Work Transfer
- Project Transfer
- Docket Transfer
- Schedule Transfer
- Labor Metrics Transfer
- A transfer dialog box opens. See below for details on each transfer type.
- To enter the details of the transfer, follow the prompts in the dialog box.
- Note: If the dialog box doesn’t contain any list items, you might not have the ability to perform the transfer. For example, if you click Work Transfer and the dialog box doesn’t contain any locations, you might not have the ability to transfer between locations.
Work Transfer
After you click this button, Dayforce opens the Work Transfer dialog box and prompts you to select a location from the list. Select a location and click Enter.

If you're required to submit the quantity after performing the transfer, click the Quantity button on the clock to enter a separate quantity clock entry in the Docket Quantity dialog box:
For example, this might apply if you transfer at the beginning of your shift, but need to enter the quantity of work you performed at the end of your shift.
Schedule Transfer
After you click this button, Dayforce opens the Schedule Transfer dialog box. If your shift isn’t configured with any schedule segments to transfer to, Dayforce indicates that there are no transfers available and doesn’t open the dialog box.
The dialog box prompts you to select the schedule segment that you’re transferring to. Dayforce shows the segment’s details, including its start and end times, location, and the job assignment associated with it. Select the schedule segment and click Enter.
Labor Metrics Transfer
