Medical Plans

The enrollment screens for medical plans show plan options if your benefits administrator configured the enrollment with any of the following sections and if you're eligible to elect plan options in each section:

  • Medical Plans
  • Health Reimbursement Account
  • Dental Plans
  • Vision Plans
  • Other Health Plans

You can view and select plan options in separate screens for each section as you continue with the enrollment.

When a dependent has an active Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO), you can’t select a plan that would cause the dependent to lose the required coverage. If you select a plan that doesn’t allow coverage for the dependent, Dayforce shows an error message.

When a dependent is covered by an active QMCSO:

  • Benefit plan options marked as a waive option aren’t available for selection.
  • Bundled options aren’t available if they include a waive option. For example, if a bundle includes Medical, Dental, and Waive Vision, and the dependent must have Vision coverage due to a QMCSO, Dayforce doesn’t show that bundle.
  • If you select a new plan or change an existing plan, Dayforce automatically links the QMCSO to the new benefit election.

If your enrollment has entering care providers enabled, you can enter the details in the Managed Care Providers screen after selecting medical plan options. See Managed Care Providers.

In the Medical Plans screen, you can do the following:

  • Change dependents to get covered in the medical plan options.
    • When you change dependents, if there is a tier change, the plan options show based on the new tier.
    • If you want to change dependents after using the Benefits Decision Support tool, you must review your responses and use the tool again for revised results.
  • Use the Benefits Decision Support tool by clicking Help Me Decide if configured for the enrollment and not used in the previous screen to help you select medical plan options. See Enrollment Benefits Decision Support.
  • Review answers in the Benefits Decision Support tool by clicking Modify Answers, if needed.
  • Select plan options.

In the Health Reimbursement Account Plans screen, you can do the following:

  • Enter annual, monthly, or per pay contribution amounts. Dayforce calculates your costs and updates the amounts based on the entered contribution amount. The minimum contribution amount set for the plan option shows by default.
  • Use the Benefits Decision Support tool by clicking Help Me Decide if configured for the enrollment and not used in previous screens to help you select plan options. See Enrollment Benefits Decision Support.
  • View the Benefits Decision Support results with recommended contribution amounts if you have already used the tool. Click the Cover Estimated Expenses and Max Tax Saving links for more information.
  • Modify the answers in the Benefits Decision Support tool if needed.
  • Select plan options.

In the Dental Plans, Vision Plans, and Other Health Plans screens, you can do the following:

  • Change dependents to get covered in the plan options. When you change dependents, if there is a tier change, the plan options show based on the new tier.
  • Select plan options.
