Your availability settings in Dayforce dictate when you can work. You can specify on which days of the week and what times on each day you're available. You won’t necessarily be scheduled during all of your available days and times. Your availability just helps your manager set your schedule. You can manage your availability from the actions list in Work > Calendar. Note that a new default availability takes effect only at the start of a period.
Work with Your Availability
To work with availability, click a day on the calendar. In the actions list that opens, hover over Availability and then select an option:
- Edit availability for the following period
- Edit default availability
- Use default availability for selected period
- Copy from previous period
If you select Edit availability for the following period or Edit default availability, a slide-out panel opens:
Your available time is represented by the green bar for each day. To update your availability, move, stretch, or shrink the green bars that represent when you’re available to work. You can also use the switch and the Copy Previous Day button to work with availability. By default, your availability is set for only one stretch of time per day. However, if you can work different shifts, or are unavailable for a portion of the day, you can configure two ranges.
