The plan screens show information related to the plan and options to select in option cards. The plan options show based on how your benefits administrator configured the enrollment:
- If you were already enrolled in an option for the previous plan year, the option cards show Currently Enrolled below the option name. You can be enrolled in one or more options. In some cases, you can be automatically enrolled in options based on how your enrollment was configured.
- If your enrollment allows selecting only one option, a radio button shows next to the option names. When you select the radio button next to an option, the Select button changes to Selected.
- If your enrollment allows selecting more than one option, a checkbox shows next to the option names. When you select the checkbox next to an option, the Select button changes to Remove Plan.
- If your enrollment allows customizing options, the Customize button shows on the option cards. For example, you can select dependents in Child Dependent Life option cards for life and disability plans. After you select the option, the Modify button allows you to modify the details.
If your benefits administrator configured the enrollment with flex credit plans, a banner shows in the plan selection screens. When you select a plan, the banner shows the total flex credit amount that you can spend on your benefit elections. See Enrollment with Flex Credit Benefits.
Tiers and Dependents
The tier of the plan shows under the Select a Plan section heading. Tiers apply to medical, dental and vision plan options. The tier changes when you select dependents in the Covered Dependents section based on how your benefits administrator configured the tiers. For example, if you select:
- The No Dependents checkbox, the Employee Only tier shows.
- Only one child dependent, the Employee & 1 Child tier shows.
- Only child dependents, the Employee & Number of Dependents tier shows. For example, the Employee & 3 Dependents tier shows if you choose three child dependents.
- Only spouse dependents, the Employee & Spouse/Legal Partner tier shows.
- Spouse and child dependents, the Employee & Family tier shows.
The plan options show based on the tier. If you change dependents, Dayforce updates the plan options based on the tier. Dayforce doesn’t show removed dependents in the Covered Dependents section in any of the plan selection screens.
Option Cards
An Option card shows information related to the plan option and costs that apply to you and your employer. Option cards show details based on how your benefits administrator configured the plan options for enrollment. You can also view amounts, enter contribution amounts, and select multipliers for base coverage in option cards. In some cases, you can customize the option cards to select dependents and calculate costs before selecting the option.
An Option card shows the following details based on how the plan options were configured:
- Your cost.
- Pay frequency.
- Benefits Decision Support results (View Details link).
- Employer annual, monthly or per pay contribution amounts.
- Coverage, requested coverage, age-reduced coverage, and guaranteed coverage.
- Plan information with comparison categories.
- Documents attached to the plan (View Plan Documentation link).
