Depending on how Dayforce is configured, you might be prompted to record some or all of the following information when you clock out to end your shift:
- Your meal or break details, or both. For example, if you didn’t clock out for a meal, you must record when you took it and how long it was.
- Whether you took all of your breaks.
- Whether you’re waiving a meal.
- Any tips that you earned during your shift.
To clock out and record information:
- Go to Work > Time Clock.
- Click End Shift. Depending on your configuration, Dayforce might show the following:
- The End Shift dialog box prompting you to enter your meals and breaks. See Record Meals and Breaks.
- The End Shift dialog box prompting you to report a missed break. See Report a Missed Break.
- The End Shift dialog box prompting you to waive a meal. See Waive Meals.
- The End Shift dialog box prompting you to enter tips. See Record Tips.
- Record the details as needed. To cancel your end-shift clock entry or to restart the process to edit shift details, click Cancel.
After you enter your information, Dayforce indicates if you successfully clocked out.

When you need to report whether you’re waiving a meal, the clock shows the following End Shift dialog box:
Depending on your Dayforce configuration, you might be able to waive only your first meal or your first or second meal. You can also decline to waive a meal.
