You can control the information and details that Dayforce shows in Work > Calendar using the View Options slide-out panel. To open the panel, click the arrow icon () to the far left of the calendar, just below the View drop-down list.

Before You Begin: The options that appear in the View Options slide-out panel depend on how your role is configured in System AdminRoles. See “Work” in the “Appendix: Role Feature Library” section of the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

Show my availability

Determines whether Dayforce shows your availability on the calendar. Regardless of the view that you select, Dayforce shows the day’s availability at the top of each day, and grays out days where you're completely unavailable:

  • Grayed out calendar day indicating an employee's unavailability.
  • In the Week and Calendar Day views, Dayforce also grays out portions of the day that you're unavailable

Hide my default availability Dayforce shows availability only on days that deviate from your default availability
Show my attendance incidents Dayforce shows the Attendance option in the actions list. It also shows the incident icon () on any days that contain an attendance incident
Show my shift trading options Dayforce shows the Shift trade option in the actions list.
Show my time off Dayforce shows your time away requests on the calendar. The requests are color-coded by status:
    • Green: Approved
    • Yellow: Pending
    • Red: Cancel Pending
Show scheduled activities Dayforce shows your activities on the calendar. Each view shows activities a bit differently:
    • Calendar Day View: Activities are shown on the right side of the calendar.
    • Week View: Activities are shown, via their icons, to the right of the shift. You can hover the cursor over the icon to view more details about the activity.
    • Calendar Month View: Activities are shown via an icon on the shift. The icon that represents the activity depends on its configuration in Schedule Setup > Activities. A single icon appears when there are multiple activities in one shift, and you can hover the cursor over the icon to view the full activity details.
Show tasks Dayforce shows your tasks on the calendar. Each view shows tasks a bit differently:
    • Calendar Day View/Week View: The task details are shown next to the details of your shift.
    • Calendar Month View: Tasks are shown via an icon on the shift. A single icon appears when there are multiple tasks in one shift, and you can hover the cursor over the icon to view the full task details.
Show payday Dayforce shows your paydays on the calendar.

The following view options are available:

    Detail Level

Though the level of detail already varies between the different views (for example, Calendar Day View or Calendar Month View), you can adjust the level of detail in the Calendar Month and Week views using the Detail level switch.

In low detail, Dayforce shows worked time for past days and scheduled times for future days. In high detail, it shows times for both scheduled (marked with a calendar icon) and worked shifts (marked with a clock icon) for past days.

    Low Detail:

Shifts with a low level of detail.

    High Detail:

Shifts with a high level of detail.

When a shift with a non-midnight business day alignment is shown in the low detail Calendar Month View, Dayforce shows a special calendar icon.

For example, an organization’s business day alignment is 6:45 PM and the week’s start day is Sunday. An employee is scheduled to work from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Sunday evening, April 2. Because the business day alignment is 6:45 PM, this shift is shown on Monday, April 3. The calendar icon shows the actual date on which the shift is scheduled (that is, ) but is shown in the calendar on Monday, April 3. You can hover over the calendar icon to show a tooltip with more information.
