Upload Documents

While most document types can be uploaded elsewhere in Dayforce (for example, using workflows), you can upload documents for certain entities directly in Document Explorer. Currently, this functionality is supported for the following entities:

  • Ben Plan
  • Ben Plan Option
  • HR Policy
  • Pay Run
  • Pay Group Calendar
  • Employee File

Note: Documents must be larger than 0 bytes. If you attempt to upload documents that are 0-byte size, Dayforce generates an error and shows an error message. This doesn't apply to links.

To upload a document:

  1. Go to Documents > Document Explorer and click Add. The Document Upload Wizard opens.
  2. Select the document type and entity type.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select the entity to associate the document with. The list of entities varies based on the document type that you selected. For example, if the user selects the Pay Run document type, Dayforce shows a list of pay runs to choose from.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Drag and drop, browse, or add a link to a file. When you add a file, the document is stored in Document Explorer. When you add a link, Dayforce saves the hyperlink that you specified. For example, a Benefit Plan might link to the benefit provider's website.
  7. Click Upload. The wizard shows the documents that you uploaded.
  8. Click Finish to close the wizard.
