Filter Documents

The left panel in Document Explorer contains filters that you can use to find the documents you need.

You can search for a specific document by file name, tag, or comment by typing the text that you want to search for and then clicking the search icon.

In the Files section, Dayforce provides the following predefined filters:

  • All Files: Shows all of the files you can access.
  • My Files: Shows your own files, but not files associated with any employees you manage.
  • My Employees: Shows files associated with any employees you manage.
  • PII Files: Shows only files that contain personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Deleted Files: Shows files that have been deleted, but haven't yet been permanently deleted.

The Files section also shows all of the tags that have been attached to documents by any user. You can click one or more tags in the list to filter documents based on their assigned tags.

In this example, Dayforce shows only documents assigned the "year end" tag.

In the File Properties section, you can filter files based on the entity type, document type group, document type, file type, last updated date, the associated employee, or the associated workflow:
