To add a document type:
- Go to Documents > Admin > Document Types and click Add.
- In the bottom left section of the screen, enter a name and description for the document type.
- In the File Type drop-down list, select all of the file types that users can upload for this document type. You can enter the file extension to filter the list.
- Note: Be sure to include all possible file types. Users cannot upload a file if its file type isn't selected here.
- In the Reference Code field, enter a cross-reference code for the document type. Cross-reference codes are used to export data from Dayforce to other applications, and to reference document types in workflow forms.
- In the Document Type Group drop-down list, enter a name or select a document type group. You can enter one or multiple document type groups.
- In the Entity Type drop-down list, select which areas of Dayforce the document type is associated with. For a list of available entities, see Entities.
- Select the Document Contains PII checkbox if the document type applies to documents that contain personally identifiable information (PII), such as a birth certificate or Social Security/Social Insurance numbers.
- Click Save.
