Instant-Issue a Dayforce Wallet Card: Payroll Administrators

Important: Before you can instant-issue a Dayforce Wallet Card to US employees, you must have some cards on hand. You can order a supply of the Dayforce Wallet Card in the Wallet tab on the Dayforce Support Portal. For instructions, go to https://support.dayforce.com and look up article KA-03489, or search for “How Do I Order Instant Issue Dayforce Cards? (US)”.

Payroll administrators can disburse funds to Dayforce Wallet without the need to assign an instant issue card; although they can, if necessary, assign an instant issue and disburse funds to Dayforce Wallet.

If an employee does not already have a Dayforce Wallet Card, the Issue Dayforce Card sub-tab is displayed to the right of the Check Entry sub-tab. If the employee does have a Dayforce Wallet Card, the Issue Dayforce Card sub-tab isn’t displayed, and funds will be pushed to the employee’s current Dayforce Wallet Card.

The following screenshot illustrates a check entry for an employee without a Dayforce Wallet Card:

When you add funds to a Dayforce Wallet Card, or are issuing a new Dayforce Wallet Card to an employee for the first time, the Load Dayforce Card button becomes active:

Important: An employee can only have one card activated at a time, either an instant-issue card or a personalized card. If an employee receives an Instant card first and then requests and activates the personalized card, the instant-issue card stops working.

Issue a Dayforce Wallet Card as an Instant-Issue Payroll Card

Before You Begin: These steps assumes that the employee does not already have a Dayforce Wallet Card. Dayforce automatically runs a verification query to see whether an employee already has a Dayforce Wallet Card. If the employee already has a Dayforce Wallet Card, step 7 isn’t available or necessary.

To issue a Dayforce Wallet Card as an instant-issue payroll card:

  1. Go to Payroll > Pay Run Management and click the Checks tab.
  2. Select an existing check, or add a new one.
  3. Select the appropriate options in the Check Type and Check Template columns.
  4. In the Disbursement Method column, select Dayforce Card.
  5. Click the Entries link to open the check entries grid.
  6. In the Code field, select an earning, then complete the other fields as determined by the earning.
  7. Click the Issue Dayforce Card sub-tab and take the following steps:
    1. In the Account Activation Code field, enter the number associated with the card.
    2. Re-enter the account activation code from the previous step in Confirm Account Activation Code.
    3. Click Save to save the check entry.
  8. Select the check entry to highlight it, then click Load Dayforce Card, which displays the Load Dayforce Card dialog box with the message “Are you sure you want to load <amount> to <employee_name> Dayforce Card?”
  9. Click OK to continue.
