Important: Before you can instant-issue a Dayforce Wallet Card to US employees, you must have some cards on hand. You can order a supply of the Dayforce Wallet Card in the Wallet tab on the Dayforce Support Portal. For instructions, go to https://support.dayforce.com and look up article KA-03489, or search for “How Do I Order Instant Issue Dayforce Cards? (US)”.
HR administrators—and other users authorized to access employee HR records in the People feature—can instant issue a Dayforce Wallet Card to an employee without the need to disburse funds at the same time, provided the employee does not already have a Dayforce Wallet Card. Dayforce automatically runs a verification query to see whether the employee already has a Dayforce Wallet Card. If the employee already has a Dayforce Wallet Card, the option to instant-issue one isn’t available.
The following screenshot illustrates the Payroll > Direct Deposit screen in People, where the HR administrator can issue an instant-issue Dayforce Wallet Card to an employee:
After the HR administrator issues this card to the employee, the employee can set it up as a direct deposit option for regular payments (that is, not for Dayforce Wallet on-demand payments).
Important: An employee can only have one card activated at a time, either an instant-issue card or a personalized card. If an employee receives an Instant card first and then requests and activates the personalized card, the instant-issue card stops working.
Issue a Dayforce Wallet Card as an Instant-Issue Payroll Card
To issue a Dayforce Wallet Card as an instant-issue payroll card:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Payroll > Direct Deposit.
- In the Pay Cards section, click Add and do the following steps:
- In the Effective Start field, enter the date that the Dayforce Wallet Card becomes active. Optionally, you can enter a date in the Effective End field.
- In the Card Type drop-down list, select Instant Issue.
- In the Pay Card Account drop-down list, select Dayforce Card.
- In the Account Activation Code field, enter the number associated with the card.
- Re-enter the account activation code from the previous step in Confirm Account Activation Code.
- (Optional) In the Reason field, enter a comment.
- Click Save.
