Users must have the appropriate role features and access authorizations configured in Dayforce to access or work with Dayforce Wallet, the Dayforce Wallet Card, and On-Demand Pay.
Before You Begin: You might find it helpful to create a new Dayforce Wallet Administrator user role to make role management easier. For general information on creating user roles, see “Configure User Roles” in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
There are several different role types that you can configure to use Dayforce Wallet, depending on what a user needs to do. Click the following links to jump to the corresponding section in this topic:

Role to Configure Employee Access to Dayforce Wallet
This task adds the role features that configure employee eligibility for Dayforce Wallet and On-Demand Pay. This configuration controls the ability for employees to register the Dayforce Wallet app and request on-demand pay.
To add the correct role features to the role type:
- Go to System Admin > Roles and select the role you have created or chosen to configure employee access to Dayforce Wallet.
- Click the Features tab.
- Locate and expand Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Employment > Employment Settings > Dayforce Wallet.
- Select the Eligible for Dayforce Wallet and Eligible for On-Demand Pay checkboxes.
- Click Save.
After you configure eligibility for employees, you can configure the role feature access required for employees to access the Dayforce Wallet mobile app: Add Dayforce Wallet to the Mobile App for Employees.
Role to Configure On-Demand Pay Controls
To add the correct role features to the role type:
- Go to System Admin > Roles and select the role that you have created or chosen to configure on-demand pay controls.
- Click the Features tab.
- Locate and expand Payroll Setup > Payroll Setup.
- Locate and select the On-Demand Pay checkbox.
- (Optional) Under On-Demand Pay, select the Negative Net Pay Configuration checkbox.
- Click Save.
This adds the role feature access for the task Set Up On-Demand Pay Control Configurations.
Role to Manage On-Demand Payment Requests in the Payroll Feature
This task adds the On-Demand and On-Demand Summary tabs to Payroll > Pay Run Management.
To add the correct role features to the role type:
- Go to System Admin > Roles and select the role you have created or chosen as the Dayforce Wallet payroll administrator.
- Click the Features tab.
- Expand Payroll > Pay Run Management.
- Locate and select the following:
- The On-Demand checkbox.
- The On-Demand Summary checkbox.
- Click Save.
Role to Use the Dayforce Wallet App
To add the correct role feature to the role type:
- Go to System Admin > Roles and select the role you have created or chosen to access the Dayforce Wallet mobile app.
- Click the Features tab.
- Expand Mobile.
- Locate and select the Dayforce Wallet checkbox.
- Click Save.
Role Access Authorizations Required for Dayforce Wallet
Access authorizations for roles are configured in System Admin > Roles, in the Authorizations tab.

- Employee Key Information
- Employee Personal Information
Important: Carefully consider who should get access to the Employee Key Information and Employee Personal Information authorizations because these authorizations allow access to other fields like the employee’s date of birth.
