Organizations in Taiwan and their employees are required to make contributions to the government pension system.
To track and report these pension contributions, make the following configurations in Dayforce:
- Add the various pension deduction types in Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions.
- Add the appropriate pension deductions as payroll elections in the employee's record in People.
- In each pay run cycle, transfer the pension data from Dayforce to Dayforce PeoplePay using the PeoplePay Taiwan HR Export (Outbound) connector in Integration Studio.
Add Pension Deductions in Dayforce
Role feature access: Payroll Setup > Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions and its sub-features
To add a pension deduction:
- Go to Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions and click the Deductions tab.
- Click Add.
- In the Add Deduction dialog box, make the following selections and then click Next.
- In Tax Type, select Post-Tax.
- In Country, select Taiwan.
- In Process for Employment, select Regular Payroll.
- In the General tab, enter a name for the pension deduction you are setting up and one of the following predetermined reference codes:
- For employee pension deductions that are flat amounts, enter TWN_D001.
- For employee pension deductions that have a percentage rate, enter TWN_D002.
- In the Parameters tab, in Calculation Type, select Flat Amount for deductions that are flat amounts or Percent Of for deductions that have a percentage rate.
- In Apply from Normal Checks by Legal Entity, select Only within primary legal.
- In the Amount section, in Access, select Employee.
- If you are setting up a deduction with a percentage rate, in Look Up Type, select Deduction. In the Look Up Value, select the monthly salary earning from which the pension amount is calculated.
- Click Save.
- Repeat these steps until you have created all of the deduction records for Taiwan pension deductions.
Add Pension Deduction to Employee Record in People
An employee's payroll elections are managed in the Payroll > Payroll Elections screen in People. In this screen, you can add, delete, or update the Taiwan pension deductions for each employee.
Role feature access: Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Payroll > Payroll Elections
To add a pension deduction as a payroll election in the employee record:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Payroll > Payroll Elections.
- In the Payroll Elections section, click Add.
- In Effective Start, enter when the first pension deduction is applied in payroll for this employee.
- In Type, select Deduction.
- In Code, select the name of the pension deduction.
- In Schedule, select how often the deduction is applied in payroll.
- In the Parameters section, depending on the deduction, enter the dollar amount that is contributed or the percentage rate.
- Click Save.
