Improved how Dayforce determines employee gender information when an employee falls into one of the following categories and your organization is attempting to use backward compatibility for Enhanced Employee Gender:
- Employees have interacted with forms that have new Gender grid.
- Employers have employees with Canadian or United States country records resulting in two or more Assigned Sex and Gender Identity records (one Federal record and one or more state/province records).
- Employers have manually created or deleted Assigned Sex and Gender Identity configurations in HR Admin > Employee Gender Admin > Gender, and have started using the new Enhanced Employee Gender functionality.
If an employee falls into one of the preceding categories, Dayforce now behaves as follows when exporting their gender records via the HR Export for DF Link:
- Dayforce determines if effective dating is enabled (that is, the Display Enhanced Gender Last Modification Information and Effective Dating client property is selected:
- If yes, Dayforce shows a warning to indicate that backward compatibility can’t be used because effective dating is enabled and that employee gender values from legacy gender end points or gender identity values from legacy gender identity end points won’t be exported.
- If no, the export proceeds.
- If the employee has one gender record, Dayforce exports it.
- If the employee has more than one gender record, Dayforce checks the following:
- If the employee is in Canada and has province-specific gender records in addition to their Canadian country record, but has no other country records, then the province records are ignored and their Canadian country record is exported.
- If the employee is in the United States and has state-specific gender records in addition to their US country record, but has no other country records, then the state records are ignored and their US country record is exported.
- If the employee has multiple country records, Dayforce shows the following message:
Employee XRefCode [Reference Code]: Invalid Gender or Gender Identity field value. Use the ‘Assigned Sex And Gender Identity' Employee Level Detail parameter to capture the enhanced assigned sex and gender identity values
