Dayforce Release Notes version 2025.1.0, Patch 4

Version
R2025.1.0 Patch 4

GPTCI-62378

Updated Dayforce to support the provincial tax deferral programs for Canadian businesses impacted by the 2025 US tariffs. You can now defer the Ontario Employer Health Tax (EHT) in Dayforce.

To expedite the process, a Dayforce feature initially designed for COVID-19 tax deferrals is used. When the tax deferral feature is enabled, you may see payroll messages that refer to COVID-19 as the reason for the deferral. The COVID-19 references will be removed in upcoming releases.

The tax deferral feature includes the following parts:

  • A new client property, Allow Provincial Health Tax Deferral, is added to System Admin > Client Properties. When the client property is selected, the Enable Tax Payment Deferral tax setting is shown for the provincial tax in the legal entity record in Org Setup > Org Payroll Setup > Legal Entity.
  • In the legal entity record, in the Tax Authorities tab, select the Enable Tax Payment Deferral tax setting for the tax that is deferred. It is recommended that you also configure an effective date range for the tax deferral period.
