Added new validation to make sure Canadian legal entity records that share the same business number don't use the same reference number for their RP (payroll deductions) program account.

A CRA program account number has three parts:

  • The nine-digit business number
  • A two-letter program identifier code that identifies the program account, such as RP
  • A four-digit reference number that identifies a specific program account for organizations that have more than one account in a program

The four-digit reference number for RP is entered in the Reference Code column of the Employment Insurance tab in Org Setup > Org Payroll Setup > Legal Entity.

The Reference Code column in the Employment Insurance tab.

In the Employment Insurance tab, Dayforce now validates the numbers entered in the Reference Code column to make sure legal entity records with the same business number don't share reference numbers.
