Payroll administrators can now issue a T4 slip that has "US" entered in Box 10 for Canadian residents who work in the United States. In previous versions, "ZZ" was entered in Box 10 for these employees.

To enable this feature, you need to configure the Canadian employee's tax status in their HR record in People. In the Tax Status section in the Payroll > Tax Definitions screen, select the new US-Canadian Beyond Province option in the Beyond Provinces drop-down list.
There is no change in the tax calculations if the employee’s T4 slip was previously configured to show “ZZ” in Box 10.

The following boxes in T4 and RL-1 forms are now validated when you generate the preview data in Year End > Canada Year End in the Overview tab:

Box 16 (CPP contributions)
Box 18 (EI premiums)
Box 24 (EI insurable earnings)
Box B (QPP contribution)
Box C (Employment insurance premium)
Box H (QPIP premium)

The validation processes ensure that the data in these boxes meet the required format and maximum character length for printing. In previous versions, these validations were done only when you requested the printing and filing of tax slips from the Dayforce Back Office. Now, any print errors are detected and corrected earlier in the tax filing process.
