Added the ability to use an employee’s previous job step level in any past-dated records when they are rehired and reach a new job step level after their rehire date. Previously, in this scenario, the Job Step Rate Recalc background job could inadvertently revert the employee’s job step level to the lowest step level in their job step policy. This could cause issues in their past-dated records from their service prior to their rehire date, such as incorrect retroactive pay adjustments. To prevent this issue, the following settings were added to the Accumulation Rule in Pay Setup > Job Rate in the Job Step Policy tab:
The Get employee rehire date from the employee’s Employment status setting uses the date specified in the Effective From field in the Employment Status tab in People, in the Employment > Employment Settings screen to determine an employee’s rehire date. When this checkbox is selected and an employee is rehired, any changes to an employee’s job step level apply after this rehire date. When the Respect Step Value Start Date Strictly checkbox is selected, any rules that are configured after the Accumulation Rule in the ruleset consider only the transactions that occur after the start date and not the ones that take place before the start date. For example, any hours accumulated by the employee in the previous employment where they were terminated before getting rehired won't be taken into consideration. Note: If you select the Get employee rehire date from the employee's Employment status checkbox, you also need to select the Respect Step Value Start Date Strictly checkbox. Otherwise, you won’t see the step value reset on a new re-hire period. |
