Updated how the Timesheets > Pay Information role security feature in HR Admin > People Role Security restricts pay information in Timesheets. Previously, when this role security feature was assigned, Dayforce restricted users from viewing amount-based pay adjustment values in the timesheets grid as expected. However, the application didn’t prevent the users from editing these pay adjustments to time-based ones. Additionally, the Amount and Rate columns were excluded from the Pay panel as expected, but they were visible in the Audits panel.

Now, the Timesheets > Pay Information role security feature was updated to cover these functional gaps. When roles are assigned this feature without access to the Pay Information access authorization in System AdminRoles:

  • They can’t create, edit, or delete amount-based pay adjustments. As was previously supported, the values of these pay adjustments aren’t visible in the timesheet cell.
  • They can create, edit, and delete time-based pay adjustments, which was previously supported.
  • They can’t view or edit amount-based pay adjustments even if they contain a pay code that supports both amount-based and hour-based pay adjustments.
  • They can create pay adjustments using pay codes that support both amounts and hours. However, they can create only hour-based pay adjustments with these pay codes.
  • The Amount and Rate columns aren’t shown in the Pay and Audit panels.
  • They can still view, edit, and delete existing amount-based pay adjustments that fall outside of the role security feature’s effective period.
  • They can still create and view amount-based pay adjustments that were created before or after the role security feature’s effective period.

Additionally, if the role security feature’s effective start or end dates are in the middle of the week, the pay information restriction applies differently depending on the period type that your organization loads timesheets by. For organizations that load by pay period, the restriction applies for the whole pay period. For organizations that load by week, the restriction applies for the whole week.

Important: If a user assigned to the Timesheets > Pay Information role security feature doesn’t have appropriate permissions configured for the Pay Information access authorization, they won’t have access to any employee pay data in Timesheets.

For more information about this functionality, see “People Role Security Setup” in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
