OData Feature Access

In order for any user to have access to the HCM Anywhere OData feature from within an analytical tool, they must have:

  • At least one role with access to the OData feature.
  • A default role selected for OData use.
  • Access to reports that are exposed to their default OData role.

The following configuration steps provide the necessary detail for completing a user’s OData setup.

Add OData Feature Access

A user with Client Administrator access must enable the OData features for all roles that should have the ability to use OData connections to retrieve data from Dayforce. Users can't authenticate with Dayforce from their analytical tool unless they have at least one role with access to HCM Anywhere > OData.

There are several layers of access that might be required. If a role needs to make reports available to OData in Reporting and Analytics > Reporting > Reports, then that role needs access to Reporting and Analytics > Reporting > Reports, as well as HCM Anywhere > Web Services.

To configure a user to access these features required for OData:

  1. Go to System Admin > Roles and select the role that should have access to OData.
  2. Click the Features tab.
  3. Expand HCM Anywhere and select the OData checkbox.
  4. (Optional) If the role needs access to make reports available to OData, select the following:
    1. HCM Anywhere > Web Services.
    2. Report Library and the reports that the role needs access to.
    3. Reporting and Analytics > Reporting and, at a minimum, Reports.
  5. Expand Profile and select the Profile Menu > Settings > Apps checkbox.
  6. Click Save, then click Refresh.

Note: Users with currently-active sessions will see changes in the Dayforce application in their next user session.
