Re-authenticate Using Biometrics

You can use biometrics (authenticate with face or with touch) to re-authenticate quickly in a session. With enabled biometrics, you can securely open the app without repeatedly entering your user name and password every time you’re prompted to re-authenticate.

Enabling biometrics is especially useful if you need to open the app multiple times throughout the day. It improves security while reducing the time and effort required to log in.

If biometrics aren’t enabled in the app, you need to manually log in with your user name and password, or use single sign-on (SSO), whenever the app is force-closed and relaunched.

Note: Biometrics doesn’t replace logging in to the app. You still need to enter your user name and password to log in. This feature helps you re-authenticate when your session expires.

Set Up Biometrics for First Time Mobile App Users

When you log in to the mobile app for the first time, you’re prompted to enable biometrics. To enable biometrics from this screen:

  1. Log in to the mobile app with your user name and password.
  2. Tap Enable Biometrics:
  3. Biometrics prompt screen.
  4. Verify your face or touch authentication, then tap Confirm.
  5. Tap Close.

Note: If biometrics aren’t enabled on your device, the app shows a message prompting you to enable biometrics before proceeding.

You can disable biometrics at any time by going to Settings in the side navigation menu and tapping off the switch in the Authentication Preferences section.

Set Up Biometrics for Existing Mobile App Users

If you’re an existing mobile app user, you’ll see a prompt to enable biometrics the next time you log in with your user name and password. If you’re already logged in, you can enable biometrics in the app settings. To enable biometrics in the settings:

  1. In the side navigation menu, tap Settings.
  2. Tap the switch in the Authentication Preferences section:
  3. Settings screen for Android in the mobile app.
  4. Verify your face or touch authentication, then tap Confirm.

Note: If face or touch authentication fails three times when re-authenticating, you need to enter your mobile device’s passcode to log in.

You can disable biometrics at any time by going to Settings and tapping off the switch in the Authentication Preferences section.
