General App Overview and Resources

The app offers multiple resources, menus, and navigation tools to help you use each feature and screen.

Context Menu

You can use the Context menu to perform various actions throughout the application. The options depend on which feature or screen you are viewing, as well as your role.

Tap the Context Menu button (context menu icon) at the top right of your screen to open a drop-down list of available options that are contextual to the feature you are using. For example, this is the Context menu on the Login screen:

  • Legal: Tap to read the terms of use, privacy policy, and open source license information. Optionally, Dayforce monitors user activity to better understand how users engage with the app to help the development team make continuous improvements. You can tap Usage Metrics to opt in or out of participating.
  • FAQ: Tap to read frequently asked questions regarding the app.
  • Manage Accounts: Tap to add or edit account login information on the Accounts screen.
  • Help: Tap to view helpful information about the feature or screen you are currently viewing.

Dayforce Assistant

Dayforce Assistant is a conversational interface that you interact with to help you manage many aspects of your Dayforce experience. Depending on your organization’s policies and your role access, you can speak or type a command or question and Dayforce Assistant provides intelligent responses. See Use Dayforce Assistant.

Dayforce Wallet

Dayforce Wallet is a separate app that lets you access your wages by loading earned pay onto your Dayforce Prepaid Mastercard (Dayforce Card). You can open the Dayforce Wallet app by tapping the Dayforce Wallet widget on the Home screen of the Dayforce Mobile app. See Dayforce Wallet.

FAQ

You can view Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in two ways:

  • Before you log in, open the Context menu and tap FAQ.
  • In the Navigation menu, tap Settings and then tap FAQ.

Help

Much of the information in this guide is also available in the Help section of the app. You can access Help topics in two ways:

  • Go to the feature you need help with, open the Context menu and then tap Help to see information about the particular feature.
  • In the Navigation menu, tap Help to list all available Help topics.

Home Screen

By default, the app opens the Home screen every time you log in, but you can select a different feature in Settings. See Change Your Default Feature.

The Home screen features customizable widgets to help you quickly access the information that's most important to you, such as upcoming time away, unread message notifications, and your next pay date. See Configure Widgets.

You can also access your profile from the Home screen by tapping your avatar and then then tapping My Profile. See Manage Your Profile.

Instructional Overlays

Instructional overlays help you to get more familiar with some of the features in the mobile app by providing tips and instructions as pop-up messages in the user interface.

You can move through the overlays by tapping the arrows, or close them by tapping Close.

Navigation Bar and Navigation Menu

Use the bottom navigation bar to quickly access up to five of your favorite features. See Configure Your Favorite Features.

Through the Navigation menu, you can access all of your available features and configure which favorite features you want to include in the bottom navigation bar. You can also manage your profile and settings through the Navigation menu.

To open the Navigation menu, tap the Navigation button (Navigation icon - three lines stacked horizontally.)at the top left of the screen.

Push Notifications

If configured, the app sends push notifications to your device so that you receive important information, even when you aren’t actively using Dayforce. You can configure which notifications you receive in Settings. See Manage Your Push Notifications.

System Announcements

The app makes occasional system announcements to inform you of upcoming downtime or maintenance. If there are announcements, they are displayed in the first widget of the Home screen by default and cannot be disabled. If there are multiple messages, the widget displays the total count of messages.

To view a system announcement, tap the System Announcement widget on the Home screen. When you are finished, tap Done.

Widgets

Widgets let you view and access to your key information directly on the Home screen. See Configure Widgets.
