Case Creation

When you create a case you can connect with Human Resources personnel if you have questions that require assistance from an HR team member. With the HR Cases feature, you can create a case so you can get help from HR and check the status of your request. When you create a case, you fill in the following required details:

Name Description
Topic Balances & Entitlements, Benefits, Compensation, Dayforce System Help, Integrations, Learning, Leave Management, Onboarding, Payroll, Performance & Goals, Recruiting, Reporting, Talent & Succession, Timesheets, Wallet, Workflow, and General.
Subject Summary of your question. The maximum length is 100 characters.
Description Details of your question. You can use formatted text and add external links if needed. The maximum length is 4,000 characters including any HTML characters.
Attachments

Tap + Add Files to attach files by either browsing locally on your device or taking a photo. You can attach up to 10 files in a batch. Each individual file must be no larger than 2 MB. Supported file types are PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX,TXT, ZIP, JPG, PNG, GIF.

  • Note: Currently, in the Android mobile app you can’t attach CSV or MSG files to cases, but you can download them.
  • Attachments added to a case are only available to the employee who submitted the case, and HR case workers who have permissions to see the case or have been assigned to the case.

    Some additional information about file attachments:

    • All file types can be downloaded from a case.
    • PDF, DOC, DOCX can be previewed. DOC and DOCX are previewed as a PDF.
    • All supported image files (JPG, PNG, GIF) can be previewed.
    • When you tap the preview menu on an attached file, you can either download or preview the file in a separate browser if the preview option is available.
    • Files are downloaded to the Downloads folder.
    • The app downsizes JPG and PNG, images to meet the 2 MB limit.

    An error message is shown if the following occurs:

    • The file fails the security scan.
    • The file type isn’t supported.
    • You try to add more than 10 files at a time.
    • A file is larger than 2 MB.
    Submit After you enter the information in the required fields, you can submit your case. If you leave the screen before tapping Submit the case details aren’t saved.
