Use the LinkedIn Learning Integration

- New Dayforce Learning -

If your organization uses LinkedIn Learning, you can configure an integration that connects your LinkedIn Learning course library directly to Dayforce Learning.

Adding and managing courses from LinkedIn Learning requires you to do the following:

Configure the Integration

To use this integration, you have to complete configuration steps in both LinkedIn Learning and in Dayforce Learning.

Before You Begin:

  • The Integrations > LinkedIn Learning screen in Dayforce Learning is only shown when the integration is enabled in Dayforce. If you don’t see the screen, contact your Dayforce representative to enable the integration.
  • You need your LinkedIn Learning Client ID and Client Secret to connect your account and complete the integration in Dayforce Learning.
  • For the configuration in LinkedIn Learning, you need the Dayforce Learning hostnames. You can find your hostnames in the Admin > Integrations > LinkedIn Learning screen of Dayforce Learning. When you click Get Started, the hostnames are shown in a note in the Set up LinkedIn Learning dialog box.

To configure the AICC settings for your LinkedIn Learning account:

  1. Go to LinkedIn Learning and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to Settings > Integrate > Playback Integrations > Configure AICC.
  3. Enter the hostnames provided by Dayforce Learning.
  4. Set the AICC version to 2.5.

To connect your LinkedIn Learning account to Dayforce Learning:

  1. Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
  2. In the side panel, under Integrations, click LinkedIn Learning.
  3. Click Get started. The Set up LinkedIn Learning dialog box opens and shows a note that provides you with hostnames that you need to enter in your LinkedIn Learning account.
  4. Enter your LinkedIn Learning Client ID and Client Secret.
  5. (Optional) Select the languages that you want to import content for. English is selected by default and can’t be removed.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Configure the enrollment settings and autotagging options for imported LinkedIn Learning content, and then click Confirm.

If you need to delete the integration after completing it, you can click the delete icon in the Admin > Integrations > LinkedIn Learning screen. When you delete the integration, all LinkedIn Learning courses are archived immediately and the content is removed for any learners who have yet to complete it. If you readd the integration, these courses are unarchived and are once again available to the assigned learners.

Update the Integration Settings

To update the integration settings:

  1. Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
  2. In the side panel, under Integrations, click LinkedIn Learning.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Update the settings as needed, and then click Save Settings.

Note the following when making changes to the integration:

  • When you change the enrollment settings for an existing integration, the changes apply only to newly imported courses. The settings for existing courses remain the same. If needed, you can go to the Admin > Learning > Courses screen, filter for LinkedIn Learning courses, and then manually update the enrollment settings for all existing courses at once.
  • When you add a language to the integration, courses in that language are automatically added to Dayforce Learning the next time the sync runs. When you remove a language, all content for that language is archived and removed for any learners who have yet to complete it. If you readd the language, these courses are unarchived and are once again available to the assigned learners.
  • It’s recommended that you avoid frequent changes to the language configuration and perform only one operation at a time. It’s best to wait for the sync to complete before making additional changes. Multiple simultaneous changes can cause sync conflicts.

Sync Courses from LinkedIn Learning

By default, the course synchronization job runs every 24 hours and does the following:

  • Adds new courses from LinkedIn Learning to Dayforce Learning for the selected languages.
  • Autotags any newly imported courses, if configured to do so. This process might take some time to complete.
  • Note: Autotagging is applied only when the course is first added. Any changes that you make to existing courses aren’t overwritten when you run additional synchronizations.
  • Archives any courses that were removed in LinkedIn Learning.

If needed, you can also manually run the synchronization job from Dayforce Learning.

To run the synchronization job manually:

  1. Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
  2. In the side panel, under Integrations, click LinkedIn Learning.
  3. Click Sync now.
