Update the Completion Status for Assigned Content

- New Dayforce Learning -

You can update the completion status for courses and learning plans from the Admin tab in Dayforce Learning. When you update the status of a learning plan, Dayforce Learning updates the status of all courses and events in that learning plan as well. If a certificate is configured for the learning content, it’s automatically issued to the selected learners when you change the status to Completed.

Important: When you change the status for an item from Completed to In progress or Not started, any certificates that were already issued for the item remain in the learner’s profile.

If you need to update the status for multiple learners, courses, or learning plans, you might want to do so using an import. See Import Data to Add or Update Learning Content.

To update the completion status manually for assigned learning content:

  1. Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
  2. In the Learning section of the side panel, click Courses or Learning plans, depending on the learning content you’d like to update the status for.
  3. Hover over an item in the list, and then click Assignments.
  4. In the assignments dialog box, select the checkbox next to each learner that you want to update the status for.
  5. Click the change status icon ().
  6. Select a new status. If you select Completed, the Mark the completion as exempt option is shown. Click Yes, and the employee is exempted from completing the course or learning plan. When you click Yes, additional fields are shown where you can enter an effective date and provide a reason for the exemption.
  7. Click Confirm.

Exempted Courses and Learning Plans

Courses and learning plans that are marked as exempt are shown with an information icon next to the Completed status throughout Dayforce Learning. When you hover over the status, the tooltip shows who added the exemption and includes the reason for the exemption, if available.

IManagers and administrators can filter and report on the items that are marked as exempt.
