- New Dayforce Learning -
When content is retired from the Go1 Content Store, OpenSesame, or LinkedIn Learning, the status of that content is set to Retired in Dayforce Learning.
This retired content is handled in the same way as archived content, however, retired content can’t be unarchived. For more information about how archived content is handled, see Delete or Archive Learning Content.
When content from the Content Store or OpenSesame is scheduled to retire, it’s assigned the Retiring soon status. A label is also added to the content showing how many days remain until its retirement. This label is visible only to administrators, it’s not shown to learners.
Note: The Retiring soon status isn’t supported for content from LinkedIn Learning. These courses go straight from Active to Retired.
Learners can still enroll in and complete learning content that’s retiring soon. However, you might want to inform learners and archive the content before the retirement date. For Content Store courses, you can also directly replace the course for the assigned learners. See Review and Replace Retiring Content Store Courses.
Archived content that’s retiring soon is still marked as Retired when the retirement date arrives.
Review and Replace Retiring Content Store Courses
In the Admin > Learning > Courses screen of Dayforce Learning, you can see and replace retired and retiring content store courses directly from the Content Store dialog box.
Before You Begin: This functionality is available only for courses that have been imported from the Go1 Content Store. It’s not available for courses imported from OpenSesame or LinkedIn Learning.
When you click the Retirements screen in the Content Store dialog box, you see the following tabs:
- Pending: Shows all retirements that need to be reviewed. For each course in this tab, you’re shown how many learners are currently assigned to the course, the course status, the impact of the retirement, and whether certification is awarded for it. For more information about the impact levels and statuses, see Retirement Impact and Statuses for Content Store Courses. In the Pending tab, you can either dismiss the course retirement without taking any action or you can replace the retired or retiring course with a new one.
- Resolved: Shows a record of all dismissed and replaced content. In this tab, you can also see the activity log for all retired and retiring courses and export it, if needed.
- Note: Courses are never automatically moved to the Resolved tab. They need to be either replaced or dismissed to move out of the Pending tab.
When you replace a course, it’s automatically assigned to all of the learners who didn’t yet complete the original course. Any progress that learners had for the original course is lost. Learners who already completed the original course don’t need to complete its replacement.
Important: Replacing a course is permanent and can’t be undone. However, if the course is still in the 60-day grace period, you can select a different replacement from the Resolved tab. Courses that are expired can no longer be replaced.
To replace or dismiss retiring courses in the Pending tab:
- Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
- Click the Learning > Courses screen, and then click Content Store.
- In the side-panel, click Retirements.
- In the Pending tab, hover over an item and do one of the following:
- To acknowledge the retirement without replacing the course, click Dismiss.
- To replace the course, click Replace. Select a replacement from the available courses, click Replace, and then click Confirm.
- You’re shown up to three suggested alternatives for the retiring course, with the best match shown first. Only courses that were already imported from the Content Store are shown in the available courses list. You can select only one replacement course.
Retirement Impact and Statuses for Content Store Courses
In the Pending tab of the Retirements screen, courses are sorted by highest impact level and then by highest assignment count to make sure that the most critical retirements are shown first.
| Impact Level | Courses That Are Assigned the Level |
|---|---|
| High (with a warning) | Courses that award certification, are marked as required, and have a completion deadline. |
| High | Courses that are marked as required and have a completion deadline. |
| Medium | Courses that are marked as required. |
| Low | Courses that don’t award certification, aren’t marked as required, and don’t have a completion deadline. |
| Status | What the Status Means |
|---|---|
| Retiring Soon | The course is scheduled for retirement but the retirement date hasn’t yet passed. Administrators can still assign users to the course, include the course in learning plans, and take all standard actions. Both the Replace and Dismiss options are available in the Pending tab. |
| Retired | The retirement date has passed, but it’s within the 60-day grace period. The course is no longer available to learners or administrators, however, it can still be replaced. Both the Replace and Dismiss options are available in the Pending tab. |
| Expired | Both the retirement date and the grace period have passed. The course can no longer be replaced. Only the Dismiss option is available in the Pending tab. |
