Manage Content in Learning Collections

- New Dayforce Learning -

If you’re a collection administrator without full learning admin access, you have access only to the Learning > Collections screen in the Admin tab of Dayforce Learning. This screen lists only the collections that were assigned to you, and your access for each collection depends on your assigned learning role.

Access and configuration: In the Access screen of the Settings dialog box for the collection, full learning administrators can assign the necessary level of access to users or groups. See Create Learning Collections.

Depending on your level of access, you can take several actions to manage the content in the collection, such as edit, delete, archive, and assign. These actions are shown when you select an item in a list and when you click the item’s Actions icon.

Create Content

If you’re authorized to create content for collections, you see the New option in the toolstrip. When you click New, you can specify the type of content that you want to create. The process for creating and managing content in collections is similar to the process outside of collections, see Manage Learning Content.

Note: The Open for self-enrollment and Open for manager enrollment settings aren’t available for content in collections.

Move Content

Content can be moved from the general Dayforce Learning catalog to a collection, or from one collection to another, using the Move icon.

Full learning admins have access to the Move icon when they select content in the following screens in Dayforce Learning:

  • Admin > Learning > Courses
  • Admin > Learning > Events
  • Admin > Learning > Learning Plans

Full learning administrators and authorized collection administrators have access to the Move icon when they select content in a collection in the Admin > Learning > Collections screen.

When you move content between collections, Dayforce checks whether the content is assigned to anyone outside of the defined audience for the collection that you’re moving it to. If audience conflicts exist for direct, group, or rule-based assignments, the Review Assignments wizard opens.

In this wizard, you can review the conflicts and decide which assignment you want to keep. The users for assignments that you keep are added to the audience for the collection that you’re moving the content to. Any assignments that you decide not to keep are permanently deleted when you move the content.

When you move content, the existing assignment and completion history are preserved for users who are already in the target audience.
