Manage Categories and Topics

- New Dayforce Learning -

You can create categories and topics to help organize and structure your learning content in Dayforce Learning. Administrators can use these categories and topics to build custom learning catalogs based on the organization’s needs. Learners and managers can use them to find content that’s relevant to their needs. Categories identify a theme for content, and topics identify the subject matter. For example, you might have a “Security” category that includes the topics “Passwords” and “IT Safety.”

Topics are shown as tags when you create or edit new learning content in the Admin tab. Adding topic tags helps learners find the content when searching by topic or category in the Learning catalog tab of Dayforce Learning. See Create and Manage Learning Content.

You create and manage categories and topics in the Admin > Categories & topics screen of Dayforce Learning. When you open this screen, you see all categories and topics, and you can edit and delete items, and filter the topics by category.

To create a new category or topic:

  1. Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
  2. In the Learning section of the side panel, click Categories & topics.
  3. Click New and select either Category or Topic.
  4. Add a title and, optionally, link the new item to existing topics or categories.
  5. Click Create.
