Configure Learning Rules for Continuing Professional Development

- New Dayforce Learning -

In Dayforce Learning, you can add rules to track continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for employees. This tracking can help make sure that employees are meeting the learning expectations set out by the organization.

For example, you could configure a rule that requires learners to complete 40 hours of CPD each year, starting on January 1st.

Before You Begin: Activity types for external learning activities are configured in the Admin > Learning > Learning activity types screen of Dayforce Learning. See Configure Activity Types for Continuing Professional Development.

To add a learning rule:

  1. Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
  2. In the Learning section of the side panel, click Learning rules.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the Information section, enter a name and, optionally, a description for the rule.
  5. Under Rule setup, do the following:
    • In the Learning goal section, select a measurement type and then enter a target to specify how many hours or units of learning are required.
    • In the Cadence & Timeframe section, specify how often learners need to complete the learning target and when the learning cycle should begin.
    • In the What can contribute to the goal? section, specify whether internal learning, external learning activities, or both, can contribute to the CPD goal. For both internal learning and external learning activities, you can select which activity types are eligible.
  6. Review the rule summary, and then click Create to save the rule.
