Configure Additional Fields for External Courses

You can configure fields to track external training and compliance requirements in Learning SetupExternal Additional Fields.

To add an additional field:

  1. Go to Learning SetupExternal Additional Fields.
  2. Click Add.
  3. In the General section:
    1. Enter the field name.
    2. In the Field Use drop-down list, select where the field is used.
    3. (Optional) If the field is visible to learners, select the Visible to Users checkbox.
    4. Enter a cross-reference code.
    5. (Optional) Enter the description that’s shown to managers for the additional field.
  4. In the Field Setting section, select the type of field from the drop-down list. The type of field you select determines the other settings that are shown.
  5. Settings for each field type

    Text

    Specify the number of characters accepted in the field. You can only enter letters in text fields.

    Numeric Enter the minimum and maximum values accepted in the field. You can only enter numbers in numeric fields.
    Alphanumeric Specify the number of characters accepted in the field. You can enter both numbers and letters in alphanumeric fields.
    Date No additional configuration is required.
    Droplist Specify the selection type from the drop-down list, click Add, and then enter a name.
  6. Click Save.

To copy or delete an existing field, select the field and click the Copy or Delete button.

Localize Additional Fields

To localize an additional field:

  1. Go to Learning SetupExternal Additional Fields.
  2. Select an existing field and click Localize.
  3. Click Add, and then select a language in the Language column.
  4. Enter the localized field name, and, optionally, a localized description.
  5. Click Save.
