Build Courses

You can create custom courses in Dayforce Learning by adding one or more pages with your course content. When you add pages, you can select from the following page types:

• Content page: Lets you add blocks of content, such as text, images, videos, and quizzes.
• SCORM or AICC package: Lets you upload an existing SCORM or AICC ZIP file with the course content.

Before You Begin: This topic describes the process for building courses from scratch, without the use of the AI Course Creator tool. For more information about using the AI Course Creator tool, see Build Courses Using AI.

You can also create drafts for new and published courses. See Create Course Drafts.

To build a course:

1. Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
2. In the Learning section of the side panel, click Courses.
3. Click New > Build course. If your organization has the AI Features setting enabled, a dialog box opens with the Start from scratch and Build with AI options. Click Start from scratch to manually build a course.
4. Add a title, duration, cover image, and description for the course.
5. Add pages to the course by doing one or both of the following:
   • Click Add page > Content page and then click Add content. Add one or more content blocks to the page, and then configure each block as needed. See Content Blocks for Courses.
   • Click Add page > SCORM or AICC package, and then upload or drag and drop a ZIP file to the SCORM or AICC package section. For more information about managing the package after adding it, see Manage SCORM and AICC Packages for Courses.
   • Note: For each SCORM page, you can track learner quiz data by clicking the Include in quiz reporting switch. See View SCORM Quiz Reports.
6. When you’re done adding pages, click the back arrow to return to the details page.
7. Do the following, as needed:
   • Click Add topics, select one or more topic tags to group the course with related content in the learning catalog, and then click Continue. See Manage Categories and Topics.
   • Click Add skills, select one or more skills to associate with the course, and then click Continue. See Add Skills to Learning Content.
   • In the Actions menu next to the Assign button, click Settings. Then, update the settings for the course, as needed. See Manage Settings for Learning Content.
