Assign Role Feature Access for Dayforce Learning

- New Dayforce Learning -

To use the learning features throughout Dayforce, each learning role needs to be assigned certain role features in the Features tab of System Admin > Roles.

The following sections give more detail for each role:

Administrators

Role features for administrators
Role Feature Purpose

Dayforce Learning

Gives access to the Dayforce Learning feature.

To see the Admin tab in Dayforce Learning, administrators also need access to either the Dayforce System Administrator or Learning Admin role feature under Learning Setup > Dayforce Roles.

HR Admin > Groups Gives access to HR Admin > Groups, where administrators can configure group membership for learning.
Learning Setup > Certifications Gives access to Learning Setup > Certifications, where administrators can track all of the certifications created in Dayforce.

Learning Setup > Dayforce Learning Roles > Dayforce System Administrator or Learning Admin

Gives access to the Admin tab in Dayforce Learning, where administrators can create and manage learning materials, report on learning activity, and review the learning organization.

The level of access within the Admin tab depends on which learning role is assigned. Your organization’s learning administrator should be assigned the Learning Admin role feature.

Learning Setup > Deep Links Gives access to Learning Setup > Deep Links, where administrators can generate links for courses that can then be shared with other users.
Learning Setup > External Additional Fields Gives access to Learning Setup > External Additional Fields, where administrators can create custom fields to track details for external courses and learning plans for training and compliance purposes.
Learning Setup > External Courses and Learning Plans Gives access to Learning Setup > External Courses and Learning Plans, where administrators can add courses and learning plans that are completed outside of Dayforce Learning, such as a course offered at a local community college.
Learning Setup > Pervasive Learning Gives access to Learning Setup > Pervasive Learning, where administrators can configure courses to be shown in a banner in Dayforce features outside of Dayforce Learning.
Learning Setup > Skills Gives access to Learning Setup > Skills, where administrators can add the skills and skill levels that can be assigned to external courses. These skills can help identify the abilities gained through external learning.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Certifications Lets administrators assign certifications to employees.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Courses Lets administrators enroll employees into courses.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Learning Plans Lets administrators enroll employees into learning plans.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Skills Lets administrators assign skills to employees.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Transcript Lets administrators view a record of courses that employees have completed.

Instructors

Role features for instructors

Dayforce Learning

Gives instructors access to the Dayforce Learning feature.

To see the Instructors tab in Dayforce Learning, users also need to be assigned as the instructor for one or more event sessions.

Learners

Role features for learners
Role feature Purpose
Dayforce Learning

Gives learners access to the Dayforce Learning feature.

Mobile > Learning Gives learners access to Dayforce Learning in the Dayforce mobile app.
Profile > Profile Menu > Career > Qualifications > Certifications Shows learners their certifications and expiration dates, if applicable.
Profile > Profile Menu > Career > Qualifications > Skills

Shows learners the active and expired skills attributed to them.

Profile > Profile Menu > Career > Training > Courses Shows learners all of the courses that they’re enrolled in, have taken, or are assigned.
Profile > Profile Menu > Career > Training > External Courses Shows learners the external courses that they’re enrolled in, have taken, or are assigned.
Profile > Profile Menu > Career >  Training > External Learning Plans Shows learners the external learning plans that are assigned to them.
Profile > Profile Menu > Career > Training > Learning Plans Shows learners the learning plans that are assigned to them.
Profile > Profile Menu > Forms > Home Forms List > Training Request Form Lets learners request enrollment for external learning.
Profile > Profile Menu > Forms > Home Forms List > Upload New Certificate Lets learners upload proof of certifications for external courses and learning plans.
Profile > Profile Menu > Settings > Preferences > Dayforce Learning Lets learners select a preferred time zone for Dayforce Learning.

Managers

Role features for managers
Role Feature Purpose

Dayforce Learning

Gives managers access to the Dayforce Learning feature.

To see the Teams & People tab in Dayforce Learning, users also need to be the direct manager for at least one learner, or they need to be assigned as the manager in the Admin > Groups tab of Dayforce Learning. See Assign Learning Managers.

People > Employee Profile > Learning > Certifications Lets managers assign certifications to employees.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Courses Lets managers enroll employees into courses.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Learning Plans Lets managers enroll employees into learning plans.
People > Employee Profile > Learning > Skills Lets managers assign skills to employees.
