For course certifications in Dayforce Learning, you can configure refresher courses that either fully renew or temporarily extend the certification for learners. Refresher courses are usually a shorter version of the original certification course that lets learners more quickly renew their certification.
Before You Begin:
- The ability to assign a refresher course is available only for courses and only if the certification is set to expire at a dynamic interval.
- Configure the refresher course using the same method as regular courses. See Create Courses.
To configure a refresher course for a course certification:
- Go to Dayforce Learning and click the Admin tab.
- In the Learning > Courses screen, open the course that you want to add a refresher course to.
- In the action menu (next to the Assign button), click Settings.
- In the Certification options section, enable the Issue certificate after completion option.
- In the Expiry settings drop-down list, select Expires at dynamic interval and then configure the remaining settings.
- Enable the Allow refresher courses option, and then configure the following fields:
- Course: Select a refresher course from the learning catalog.
- Disable full course when refresher is active: Select No and the full course is still available so that learners can complete either the full course or the refresher course for recertification. Select Yes and only the refresher course is available for recertification.
- Extend certification by: Set the amount of time that the certification expiry is extended upon completion of the refresher course.
- Max renewals per learner: Enter the number of times that the learner can complete the refresher course before they need to complete the full course again.
- Click Save settings.
