Export and Import Integrations

Integrations can be exported from one environment and imported into another. For example, if a new integration is tested and ready to go in the Test environment, you can export that configuration from Test and import the integration file into your Production environment. You must have the same role feature access in both environments.

Important: Certain API parameters and Transmission Settings aren’t included when you export an integration. You must configure these in Step 2 (in the Source option) and Step 4 (in the Transmission Method and related options) before you save the imported integration.

To export an integration:

  1. Go to Integrations > Integration Studio.
  2. Click the action icon and select Export. Studio will download an IntStudioConfigExport file with all of the integration details.
  3. Save this file in a safe place.

To import an integration:

  1. Go to Integrations > Integration Studio.
  2. In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click Import Integration.
  3. Browse for the exported IntStudioConfigExport file, or drag and drop the file into the import dialog box.
  4. Integration Studio validates the IntStudioConfigExport file:
    • If there are errors, they are displayed on-screen.
    • If there are no errors, the Import button is active.
  5. The integration is loaded after the import completes. Some fields will have a suffix indicating that the integration was imported by default, such as the Integration Name and Reference Code.
  6. Configure the API parameters, Transmission, and Scheduling settings, and make any other updates as needed.

Important: An integrations must be exported from and imported back into the same Dayforce version.

The following error message is shown in Dayforce when you import an integration that isn’t released for use in your system or you don’t have the required role feature enabled for your user role.

Error message shown when the application encounters an issue when you are importing an integration.
