Configure an Event Driven HR Changes (Outbound) Connector

Before You Begin: It is highly recommended that you review the current HR event limitations before configuring an event-based connector in Integration Studio. To view the current HR event limitations or to obtain more information about HR and payroll election events, see the Dayforce Developers Network.

An Event Driven HR Changes (Outbound) connector is an integration connector that uses an HR or payroll election change event to send employee data to downstream systems.

What is supported

  • You can select one or more HR or Payroll Election events.
  • You can include event data in the integration that has occurred since the last time the integration ran or as-of a user defined date range.
  • You can use source data in the integration from the event payload, as well as any other HR data as-of the time of the event, the effective date associated with the change of the record that triggered the event, or any date field that is contained in the event.
  • You can map and transform the data into the target system’s requirements.
  • You can set the batch size of the output (for example, a value of 1 creates one file or payload for each event).
  • You can reference values from the updated or prior record.

What is not supported

  • Currently, the order that the events occur might not match the timing for when they generate a file or payload from Integration Studio, so you will need to add elements from the output like Last Modified Timestamp or event time in the output or payload itself or in the filename or URI as data sourced tokens.
  • Currently, files that are generated with the Event Driven HR Changes (Outbound) connector should be limited to 1,000 event records per file when using the batch file parameter. If an integration run contains more than 1,000 event records, the integration run will produce several files that will contain 1,000 records each.

Configure an Event-Driven HR Change Integration

To build an event-driven HR change integration:

  1. Go to Integrations > Integration Studio.
  2. Click Create Integration.
  3. Locate and select the Event Driven HR Changes (Outbound) connector.
  4. Configure the integration by expanding each of the following steps in the connector:
    1. Step 1. Name this integration.
    2. Step 2. Define the parameters of this integration.
    3. Step 3. Map fields from Dayforce to <Vendor>.
    4. Step 4. Define the transmission details of this integration.
    5. Step 5. Choose when this integration will run.
  5. When you have completed all of the configuration steps, click Save. Integration Studio validates your configuration.

Integration Studio shows any configuration warnings and /or error messages below the affected field when you click somewhere on the screen or when you use the Tab key to move to another field.

If Integration Studio detects potential warnings, the orange save notification reads “Successfully saved with warnings!” When it detects potential errors, the red save notification reads “Not saved - please review errors above!”

After you have created an integration, you can see it in the Available Integration Configurations screen with any other integrations that you have created. You can also edit, copy, run, or delete the integration by clicking the action button (three vertical dots) to the far right of the integration.
