Benefit Connectors

To use the benefit connectors in Integration Studio, the Integrations > Integration Studio > Benefits feature must be configured for your user role in the Features tab in System Admin > Roles.

Benefit integrations that use the EDI 834 format can be difficult to create, test and maintain because plans and carriers change over time. The Benefits connectors provide you with a simpler and faster way to integrate benefits related systems by including all of the required fields for each vendor and by pre-mapping the majority of the fields.

Note: You can use the Master Template 834 Layout (Outbound) connector when a pre-built connector for a specific vendor is not available in Integration Studio. You can add or remove fields in the Master Template 834 Layout (Outbound) connector, and you can also modify the fields mapped from Dayforce to a vendor, as needed.

The following fields must be updated when you use any of the benefits connectors to configure an integration:

  • Effective From field

Step 2. Define the parameters of this integration
  • Carrier drop-down list
  • PlanStartDate field
  • PlanEndDate field
Step 3. Map fields from <Vendor> to Dayforce
  • Client Authorization Information
  • Client Security Information
  • Interchange Sender ID for the Client, such as FEIN
  • Application Senders Code for the Client
  • Application Receivers Code for the Client
  • Sponsor Name
  • Identification Code for the Client
Step 4. Define the transmission details of this integration
  • Transmission Method drop-down list
  • File Name field

Note: Additionally, some connectors require specific updates under the Employee (typically labeled EMPINSMember) and Dependent (typically labeled DEPINSMember) nodes of the pre-defined structure.
