Customizing Hub to reflect your company’s brand is key to creating a consistent employee experience. Work with your marketing department, if you have one, to obtain high quality assets, like logos, and hex color codes for accent colors. If you have more than one branding color, choose a dark one so that the contrast is high. This is important for accessibility, as low contrast colors can be difficult to read.
High quality images also make Hub stand out. You may be able to request background images from your marketing department. If this is not an option, you can also check free stock photo sites like Pexels, Unsplash, or Undraw.co. Be sure you understand their licensing before using them. See the Dayforce Hub Administrator Guide for file size and aspect ratio guidance.
When you choose images, look for simple ones with only two to three elements. This helps avoid visual overload, especially if you have many images on your Hub. If you are using pictures that contain people, pay attention to how images resize or crop so that faces are not cut off. Avoid using images that contain text, since the image text won’t be accessible to users who rely on a screen reader. To improve content accessibility, use descriptive text to describe images and links, and provide transcripts for video media.
