In the Quick View feature, you can create a view by entering a search expression in the search field that defines the information you want to show. The expression can contain the following elements:
- Keywords: Use keywords in the expression to determine how the information is to be shown. The keywords that can be used in expressions are shown in a table on the Quick View screen. The list also includes descriptions and examples to help you build the correct query.
- Fields: Use fields in the expression to determine which data is shown.
- Data Source: You can include the data source to specify from where in Dayforce the data is retrieved.
Show Average Age split by Gender from Employee. In this example, the keywords are show and split, the field is Average Age, and the data source is Employee.For quick reference, your last 10 queries and your favorite queries are shown on the screen. Click one of the previous queries to load it.
To create a view:
- Go to Reporting and Analytics > Dashboards > Quick View and enter the expression for the view that will present the data you need.
- Click Execute. Dayforce shows your view on the page:

- Click the favorites star icon (
) if you want to save the query to use later.
- Click Open in View Builder to continue editing your view in View Builder and to add it to a dashboard.
