The following terminology is used in the Dashboards module. You should familiarize yourself with these terms before you continue reading this guide.
Dashboard
A dashboard is a collection of views. The Dashboards feature comes preconfigured with dashboard templates that contain visual representations of information such as absences, employee salaries, benefit elections and costs. As new data is added to Dashboards, new dashboard templates are usually built to highlight recommended analytics.
Data Source
A data source is a collection of fields and measures from various tables in Dayforce which can be from one or more modules.
Group
A group is a collection of dashboards. By default, Dashboards contains two groups:
- Private/personal dashboards: Dashboards created by you and visible only to you.
- Dashboard templates: Dashboards created by Dayforce to help you identify recommended analytics.
You can create additional groups to organize your dashboards.
View
A view shows useful analytics in a visual representation. You can configure four types of views in Dashboards: charts, KPIs, metrics, and tables. There are a number of preconfigured views available in Dayforce. See Configure View Settings.
