Move, Copy, and Swap Shifts

In Centralized Schedules, you can use drag and drop to move, copy, and swap shifts between employees. You can use this functionality only for employees that have the same job assignment and work in the same location. Dayforce doesn't copy information that differs between employees. For example, if you copy an employee's shift and the receiving employee is assigned a different project, docket, or labor metric, Dayforce leaves these fields blank.

When you click a shift and drag it to a cell that doesn't contain a shift, the move icon () and the copy icon () appear. When you click a shift and drag it to a cell that contains a shift, the swap icon appears (). Dayforce grays out any cells that you can't move the shift to. In the screenshot below, you can move or copy Ali's shift to Andre or Chelsea, but not to Anton, Brenden, or Carl.
