Before you can schedule your staff or check your staffing requirements in Centralized Schedules, you must load an operational template.
Dayforce shows different groupings based on the operational template that you load. Templates might contain a combination of location, department, docket, job, labor metric, and project groupings. Dayforce shows only valid combinations of groupings in the drop-down lists. For example, if you select Accessories in the Department drop-down list, the Job drop-down list will contain only jobs that are relevant to the Accessories department. If an employee works a job in a different department, their job won't appear in the Job drop-down list because the employee can't be scheduled in that department.
Some templates have a Maximum Load value. You can see this value when you select a template that's configured with a maximum load restriction. This value represents the maximum number of locations that you can load using the template. For example, if you load a template with a Maximum Load value of three, you can select a maximum of three locations in the Location selection list. See Operational Templates.
To load centralized schedules:
- Go to Centralized Schedules and click the down arrow next to the Load button.
- Select an operational template. The dialog box expands and shows your template’s groupings. Depending on the template that you select, the groupings might already show some values.
- Do one of the following:
- If the groupings aren't populated with values, click the down arrow and select ones.
- (Optional) Update the default selections for your groupings.
- If you edit the default grouping selections, you can save your changes as a template shortcut. See Manage Shortcut Templates.
- Click Load.
If the grouping values that you select have problems, Dayforce doesn’t load the schedules and indicates the problem. For example, suppose that you try to load schedules for two job types, Cashier and Stocker, at two locations: Store 122 and Store 125. If Store 122 doesn’t have any employees assigned the Stocker job, Dayforce doesn’t load the schedules and indicates that the specified job isn’t valid for all locations:
