Before you can create operational templates and use centralized scheduling, you must configure access. Some of this configuration also applies to the Schedules feature. See “Schedules” under “Appendix: Role Feature Library” in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

Client Properties
In System Admin > Client Properties, in the Properties tab, enable and configure the following client properties:

Enable Customized Employee Sort Order
- Primary sort
- Primary sort direction
- Secondary sort
- Secondary sort direction
- Third sort
- Third sort direction
- (Optional) Secondary Employee Display (see Additional Employee Details)
Authorizations
In System Admin > Roles, in the Authorizations tab, locate the Operational Templates access authorization and assign Can Create, Can Read, Can Update, and Can Delete permissions.
Configure Shift Rotations
To create schedules using shift rotations, you must first configure shift rotations in Scheduling Plan > Shift Setup > Shift Rotation. Then, in People, in the Employment > Employment Settings screen, assign the shift rotations to your employees and select the Create Schedule From Rotation checkbox.
