The Grid View shows your scheduled shifts as cells on a grid, with a column for each day of the week. Dayforce shows schedules in a hierarchy based on the grouping configuration of the operational template that you load. After you load a template, Dayforce shows the locations at the top of the grouping hierarchy. After the location grouping, the hierarchy might be organized by additional criteria (depending on the template’s configuration), such as job assignment, department, project assignment, and labor metrics. You can expand each location grouping to view employees based on any additional grouping criteria.
The following screenshot shows a grouping hierarchy with employees organized by location, followed by two departments (Customer Service and Management) and several job assignments:
Dayforce shows the total number of scheduled hours for each grouping in the hierarchy. To expand each grouping level, click the down arrow. The following screenshot shows the schedules for customer service associates who work at Bank 1:
For each location that you load, Dayforce also lists all of the employees who work at the location without applying the template’s grouping criteria. The screenshot below shows all employees who work at Bank 1 below the groupings, in the Employee section:
Depending on your operational template’s configuration, some shift details in the Employee section might be faded. This means that the employee is scheduled at another location or another group in the same location on that day. For example, Aaron Jones has work assignments at Plant 2 and Plant 3, with a scheduled shift at Plant 2 on Monday, September 20. In the following screenshot, the shift details under Plant 3 are faded to indicate that the shift is scheduled at another location, meaning that the employee can’t work at Plant 3 that day:
Depending on your access, you can add, edit, or delete shifts using the icons that appear when you click a cell containing a shift. If a cell contains no scheduled shift, Dayforce shows only the add icon.
When you click the add or edit icon, a dialog box opens where you can specify shift details such as start and end times, meal and break times, projects, labor metrics, and more:
You can also divide your employees’ workdays into schedule segments. Each segment represents the length of time when the employee works under a specific work assignment, project, or other criteria. For example, if an employee transfers on Tuesdays to a different job assignment, you can specify the transfer details in this dialog box.
In the following screenshot, an employee is scheduled a shift that includes a transfer. Each work assignment has its own segment in the schedule, with the appropriate work details (that is, job assignment, duration, and pay code, among others) defined for each segment:
After you specify the shift details, click Apply and then OK.
